Turkey rhubarb (Rheum palmatum L.) root tea also known as Chinese rhubarb, Da Huang, Rzewien. Rhubarb root has been used for traditionally by the Chinese for thousands of years. It is documented in the Divine Farmer’s Herb-Root Classic, compiled over 2,700 years ago. During Islamic times, rhubarb was imported along the Silk Road reaching Europe in the 14th century from ports in Aleppo and Smyrna, where it became known as “Turkish Rhubarb.” Russia also became a valued importer of rhubarb. The plant was more expensive than cinnamon, opium or saffron, leading Marco Polo to look for alternate routes. The high price of rhubarb led to efforts for cultivating the plant on closer European soils. The word, “rhubarb” derives from the Ancient Greek “rha” and “barbarum” referring to the plants and the river Volga, where for centuries, it used to grow wild. Medicinal and culinary rhubarb was cultivated in the city of Philadelphia, in the United States as early as 1730. Thomas Jefferson planted R. undulatum at Monticello in 1809, enjoying the leaves as being similar to spinach. Rhubarb root produces a rich brown dye similar to walnut husks and is used in northern areas where walnuts do not grow. Hungry wildlife will dig up the roots in spring to eat

Quality over quantity

I’ve since been informed it’s quality over quantity with this product, but despite this it’s not cost effective for me as I need to take it for a few months

Visit botanicalremedies.co.uk for great price range comparing to ebay. Actually buying directly from my online dispensary with promotional code brings price up to 45% lower comparing to ebay, where you made yours purchase.
All the best Wojciech

Very little

You don’t get very much, so it doesn’t last very long and not good value for money

Thank You for the feedback. Unfortunatelly medicinal herbs with GMP standarts with proven by laboratory tests are up to 10 times more expensive in production which make also price high. I wouldnt mind if you at least mention exceptional quality of my rhubarb root, but I do understand your disappointment. If you do not looking in herbs for medicinal actions and dont mind poor quality, possible pollutions and toxins, then my dispensary is not the right one to look for herbs. However if you prefer quality, purity and medicinal actions you are in right place and comparing to other companies following GMP proces best value for money is actually here. I follow GMP standarts and getting herbs from GMP proces following wholesalers. Thats make prices high. All the best Wojciech
