Chinese scullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi.) also known as Scutellaria, Skute, Blue Skullcap, Mad Dog Skullcap, Baical Skullcap, Hoodwort, Virginian Skullcap, Madweed, Huang qin, Fu chang, Yuan qin (Chin), Ogon (Jap), Hwanggum (Kor) has long term traditional use especially in Chinese medicine.
Suggested Use: It can be used for herbal tea. Place the 1-2 teaspoon of herb in a saucepan (preferably not aluminium), pour on cup of water, place the saucepan lid on, bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink. Chinese skullcap has also other uses, research beneficial uses of this herb or consult an Herbalist as to how this product can benefit you.
Contraindications: If you have diabetes, DO NOT take Chinese skullcap without your doctor's supervision. Chinese skullcap may lower blood sugar levels, raising the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Pregnant or breastfeeding please check with your healthcare practitioner before using Skullcap.
