Iceland Moss tea (Cetraria Islandica L.) Porost Islandzki is nutritionally dense, raw dried red algae. It is exceptionally high in iodine which is known for its contribution to healthy thyroid function. This seaweed contains a wealth of vitamins and minerals and is typically used as a vegetarian/vegan thickening agent. Notably absent from a vegetarian diet, sulphur-containing amino acids such as taurine are abundant in Irish Moss - more so than in any other type of seaweed.

Suggested Use: It can be used for herbal tea. Place the 1-2 teaspoon of ground algae in a saucepan (preferably not aluminium), pour on cup of water, place the saucepan lid on, bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink. Iceland Moss has also other uses, research or contact medical herbalist to find out how you can benefit.
