MycoNutri Zhu Ling (Polyporus umbellatus) Powder (100g)
Experience the holistic, balancing power of Polyporus umbellatus, traditionally known as Zhu Ling, with MycoNutri's versatile 100g loose powder. First recorded in the ancient Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing as a superior herb, Zhu Ling has been highly valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 2,000 years. Formulated under the expert guidance of world-renowned mycologist, teacher, and author Martin Powell, this newly improved formulation reflects the traditional TCM principle of "Jun–Chen–Zuo–Shi," where each component supports and complements the others.
Manufactured in the UK to strict GMP standards, this powder respects the inherent harmony of the active compounds rather than aggressively isolating them, delivering broader nutritional activity and enhanced support for your overall wellbeing.
Sustainable Underground Cultivation
Unlike most medicinal mushrooms that form fruiting bodies above ground, Polyporus forms dense, tuber-like sclerotia beneath the soil surface. To ensure unmatched purity and sustainability, MycoNutri exclusively sources cultivated material from Anhui Province, China.
- Mimicking Nature: Cultivated using a buried hardwood sawdust and soil-based substrate in highly controlled, pesticide-free environments.
- Patient Maturation: The hard, rubbery sclerotia are left undisturbed underground to develop slowly over 8 to 12 months, drawing rich nutrients from the substrate to form their unique composition.
- Peak Harvest: Harvest occurs only once annually when the underground sclerotia reach full density and maximum resilience.
Advanced 50/50 Extraction Philosophy
Because the sclerotia are incredibly tough, extraction requires an extended hot-water decoction under controlled pressure to properly release the bioactive polysaccharides. To capture the absolute best of both worlds, this new formula combines two precise extracts:
- 50% Concentrated Extract (8-10:1): Hot-water extracted twice, then filtered and vacuum-concentrated to preserve molecular integrity.
- 50% Full-Spectrum Extract: A hot-water extract combined with a proportion of finely milled mushroom fiber to retain the insoluble beta-glucans and the mushroom's natural matrix.
The combined extracts are gently spray-dried to produce a balanced powder free from excipients. While our minimum accepted specification guarantees >40% total beta-glucans, recent independent laboratory analysis by ADACT Medical Ltd has confirmed an exceptional beta-glucan concentration of 58.48%
Suggested Use & Ingredients
Dosage Guidelines
Take up to 1 heaped 5ml teaspoon daily (suggested intake 1g to 3g per day), or as recommended by your health professional. Add to hot or cold beverages or sprinkle into food for easy consumption. (Note: 1 heaped teaspoon = approx 3g).
Botanical Mixability Profile
This extract is fully water-soluble; however, due to its naturally viscous heteropolysaccharide matrix, it may dissolve slowly and form small clumps initially. For the best dispersion, stir continuously in hot water or blend directly into smoothies.
