How to prepare Organic Liquorice root tea:

To prepare Liquorice root infusion, add 0.5-1 teaspoons of root to a pan (not aluminium). Pour in a cup of cold water. Bring to boil, simmer for 15-30 minutes on low heat. Cautions and Contraindications: 

  • Liquorice may interact with corticosteroids and certain types of (potassium-depleting) diuretics and laxatives and again if these are being prescribed it will be wise to keep any regular consumption at low levels and check with your prescriber. Long-term regular use of high doses may not be wise if you have osteoporosis
  • Contraindicated with severe kidney insufficiency or high blood pressure, low blood pressure or cardiac disease, liver cirrhosis, bile statsis or chronic hepatitis.
  • Moderate liquorice consumption is likely to be safe for the vast majority of people, consult herbalist if in doubts.
