Catnip (Nepeta cataria L.) also known as Catswort, Catmint, Field Balm, Ment De Gato, Mao Bo He, Kocimietka very pleasant herbal tea which has long history of traditional use. 

Traditionally used to start menses and aid children’s coughs. Culpeper said, “taken alone or with other herbs in a decoction to bathe in, or sit over the hot fumes thereof; and by the frequent use thereof it takes away barrenness, and the winds and pains of the mother.” Especially effective in cases with congestion and restlessness or delirium. Has been used to treat psychological and physical unrest. Used in cooking to impart a subtle mint flavor. In early colonial times, it was suggested that ingesting catnip would somehow make even the kindest person mean. It was consumed by hangmen to “get in the mood” for performing their job.


Suggested Use: It can be used for herbal tea 1-2 teaspoon to cup of boiling water, step for 5-15 minutes, strain and drink. Catnip has also other uses, research beneficial uses of this herb or consult an Herbalist as to how this product can benefit you.

Contraindications: Not suitable for use during pregnancy.

alll sticks, no leaves

Bit dissapointed with this catnip. bought it for my cat to make catnip tea but the stiks are so long that they don't even fit in the teastrainer

I am sorry to hear that, definetly there was at least amount of leaves visible on picture. I would mind if you mentioned that aroma and taste was outstanding. I had quite few try on bringing catnip to my shop, and most of them I had to dispose in rubbish. This supplier had product which beats all products other available on marked with quality, so I decided stick to it. All the best Wojciech
